Flourtown man, 80, testing for Black Belt in Aikido – Chestnut Hill Local Philadelphia PAA resident of Flourtown for 56 years, Bob O’Hare of Haws Lane started training in Aikido for exercise six years ago. Bob and his wife, Carol, were both active physically and planned their vacations around skiing and scuba diving. Bob, in addition, ran for several years until it got to be too much for his feet and knees.

Grandmaster Peter Cooney, 68, takes Kung Fu skills from east Hull to Far EastA KUNG fu instructor from east Hull has been invited to a martial arts competition in Thailand later this month. Peter Cooney, 68, of Sutton, has been doing martial arts since he was ten years old. Mr Cooney is a grandmaster in kyusho – a martial art that uses pressure points on the body to attack the nervous system.

Sioux Hall, Shihan – In memoriamSioux Hall, Chief Instructor of Harvard Aikikai and Muso Aikikai, passed from this world on February 6, 2015. She died in much the same way as she lived – peaceably, on her own terms, and with profound courage. I knew Sioux for almost 35 years.
